We have all seen an ancient Greek, Roman, etc. sculpture before, or
at least a photograph of one. You know? These are those super realistic
looking sculptures of people that artists would carve in the ancient
times. These are the sculptures that usually depict either the full or
half exposed human body, along with some beautifully draped clothing, as
a means of admiring natural beauty.
Well, these pieces must have been hard enough during their time to
create, but remaking them today without the human models? Wow! Chinese
artist, Li Hongbo,
manages to do this and so much more. His collection of sculptures,
which is currently on display at the Klein Sun Gallery in New York, not
only recreates these timeless sculptures, but also does it out of a
completed unexpected material.
